Your first hat on a round knitting loom
No needles, no pattern charts. A round loom, a hook and some chunky yarn are enough for a warm hat.
Pick your loom
For an adult hat use the 9 inch loom with chunky yarn; for a child, the 7 inch. The 5 inch loom is for baby hats and the 11 inch for cowls and loose slouchy hats.
Cast on with the e-wrap
Tie a slip knot on the anchor peg, then wrap each peg clockwise in a figure that looks like a cursive e. Go all the way round once.
Knit a row
Wrap a second loop above the first on every peg, then use the hook to lift the bottom loop over the top one and off the peg. That is one row.
Make the brim
Knit about 12 rows, then reach inside and hook the cast-on row back onto the pegs. Knit over it to create a double folded brim.
Close and finish
Knit until the tube is the height of the hat, cut the yarn with a long tail, thread it through every loop with the yarn needle and pull tight. Top it with a pompom from the makers in the set.
